As the second quarter of 2024 wrapped up, Sensor Tower's comprehensive analysis of the horror game category on iOS in the United States revealed some intriguing trends for the top contenders in the genre.

Mystery Matters by Playrix showed a fluctuating revenue trend, starting at $143K in the first week of April, peaking at $416K in mid-May, and settling at $224K by the end of June. Downloads for the game saw a sharp decline from 20K in early April to just 8K by late June, while weekly active users gradually decreased from 84K to 75K over the quarter.

Identity V from NetEase Games witnessed a notable revenue spike to $443K in mid-April, followed by a dip to $49K towards the end of June. Downloads were highest at 37K in late April and saw a drop to 4K by the quarter's close. Active users showed an upward trend initially from 103K to 135K by the end of April but eventually declined to 111K by June's end.

Behaviour Interactive Inc.'s Dead by Daylight Mobile experienced steady revenue growth from $57K to $80K, with a brief dip to $25K in early June. Download numbers remained fairly consistent, ranging from 24K to 53K. Weekly active users saw an increase from 213K to 242K by early June but slightly decreased to 209K in the last week of June.

Five Nights at Freddy's by Clickteam, LLC had a varied revenue journey, with a high of $81K in mid-June. The game had no new downloads recorded throughout the quarter, and weekly active user data was not available.

Lastly, Hello Neighbor from tinyBuild LLC saw its revenue move from $30K at the start of April to $17K by the end of June, with downloads peaking at 93K in mid-April and falling to 30K by the close of the quarter. The game's weekly active users reached a high of 269K in mid-April but fell to 152K by the quarter's end.
